The Studio
A design studio, quietly run.

Turner-Hébert is a residential design studio. We work by introduction, on a small number of homes, and we take each of them top to bottom.
The studio was founded on two different educations — one architectural and American, one European and collected — and the work lives in the argument between them. We are interested in the parts of a house that never photograph first: the height of a door casing, the weight of a handle, where the light lands at five in the afternoon.
We do not have a house style, and we are suspicious of studios that do. What repeats is the standard, not the look. What we promise clients is simple and difficult: expect a transformation.

What we believe
Architecture first
We resolve the plan and the millwork before we choose a single fabric. Good rooms are built, not styled.
Bespoke by default
Drawn, made or found for the room it will live in. Nothing carried over from the last house.
Worldly, not themed
A Paris flea find beside a California maker. Range is the point; a signature look is not.
