A Bath Rebuilt Around a Single Light

A plaster-warm bath in a 1940s canyon house, layered with unlacquered brass, hand-blown glass and a collected antique rug.
The house had good bones and bad lighting. We began with the light — a hand-blown pendant hung low between two black-framed mirrors — and let everything else settle around its warmth.
Walls were taken to a soft limewash blush that shifts from cream to clay through the day. Marble backsplash and a stained white-oak vanity keep the palette quiet, while unlacquered brass fittings are left to patina.
The adjoining dressing hall was reclaimed from a hallway: full-height mirror, a caned French chair, framed coastal photography, and one true note of green.
